Ebook About
On September 11, 2018, Navy SEAL Chief Edward Gallagher—a highly-decorated combat veteran with nine deployments to war zones in Africa, Afghanistan, and Iraq—was arrested for war crimes at the TBI medical clinic where he was receiving treatment. His incarceration was the culmination of a year-long whisper campaign started by a group of disgruntled members of his SEAL platoon after a successful deployment fighting ISIS in Mosul, Iraq. At the end of that deployment, Chief Gallagher was named the #1 chief at SEAL Team 7, put in for a Silver Star for valor on the battlefield, and listed for promotion to Senior Chief. The junior members whom Chief Gallagher had called out for cowardice and ineptitude in combat decided they couldn't let any of those things stand, and escalated minor complaints into false accusations of stabbing a captured ISIS fighter and shooting noncombatants that gained international attention.Despite a corrupt investigation and a deceitful prosecutor who would be removed from the case for spying on defense attorneys, Chief Gallagher was found innocent on all major charges, and freed from prison. While heavily covered in the media, the full story of how this war hero was railroaded and nearly sent to prison for life for crimes he didn't commit has never been told. Chief Gallagher did not testify at his trial, and has spoken in little detail about how this travesty came about. Until now. A shocking, raw, tell-all expose that pulls no punches, and identifies each and every bad actor in this surreal story.Book includes QR codes that link to videos of the accusers' NCIS interviews, trial audio, and text message threads highlighting the plot to take Chief Gallagher down.

Book The Man in the Arena: From Fighting ISIS to Fighting for My Freedom Review :

Navy Seal Chief Eddie Gallagher and his wife, Andrea, share their often unbelievable story in the pages of “The Man in the Arena”. Actually, the subtitle is much better at describing what the book is about.Gallagher is ripped out of a TBI therapy hospital and arrested for crimes he didn’t commit. He spent months imprisoned, harassed and manipulated from the highest levels of the government & military. Their story reads like convoluted fiction and riles the emotions like good courtroom drama wrapped with psychological thriller. The lengths to which the government stooped to falsely accuse Eddie had no boundaries. They terrorized his children; despicable! This is a book that sadly will polarize. It shouldn’t be that way, but regrettably that’s where we are as a country. If readers could take the time to consider Gallagher’s almost 20 year of service, his drive to become a Seal, (spoken about in the book), and then really considered the travesty of injustice foisted upon him and his family, this story becomes HUMAN interest, not a political parse.Thoroughly engaging, easy to read, but they should have redacted the abundance of expletives so younger teens could appreciate this story; Highly recommend, nonetheless 📚Fierce Families Fact or Fiction June 2021 #17
Eddie has managed to buy fully into the falsehoods he created to shield himself from the consequences of his actions. His guilt is transparent, and his grasping and inconsistent efforts to pin the responsibility onto his subordinates is as ineffective as it is pathetic. Even if the killing he committed was instead done by one of the men in his platoon, he would be equally culpable. His inability to control his platoon in his fictional narrative damns him as much as his real actions. A senior enlisted member of SOF crafting a victim narrative of his persecution by “millennial SEALs” undermines the reputation of the organization and any claims he made to his own fitness to command. He served as an instructor at BUDS, and if he put out what he claims to be poor products from the NSW pipeline, he has no one to blame but himself. The book throws allegations at every member of his team that wasn’t willing to be pressured into drinking the Eddie kool-aid, and many of these accusations are themselves contradictory. For a man that complains so much about a victimhood mentality among the members of his platoon, he sure has managed to dupe himself into thinking he’s a blameless victim of the system. The book is a blatant bid for money and an attempt to reclaim his 15 minutes of fame on talk show programs. Eddie has sacrificed his own honor and eroded the honor of the SEAL brotherhood in a flailing dartboard attempt to throw the warriors that stood beside him under the bus in order to avoid facing the truth of his own crimes.
